This year, Monique
has been working and “playing”, in her studio.
Monique likes to
explore different possibilities to create jewellery, wall
plaques, garden-art and lots of functional and decorative
ware. Special effects are achieved by adding glass or
hand-coloured clays. Her decorations are mostly inspired by
nature’s colours and patterns. She uses vibrant colours and
experiments with new glazes.
 She has
been producing quality stoneware for forty years and is now
exploring pure and extraordinary porcelain, using different
techniques to show off the whiteness, thinness and
translucency of this material. Come and see what she has been up to
lately.
Linda De La
Torre Mountain,
ON 613-989-1132 delatorredesigns@hotmail.com
Linda uses a combination of unique
wirework and beading of glass beads, semi-precious stones and
recycled pieces to create trendy jewelry for people of all
ages. This year, she is working on some new
jewelry pieces,
incorporating soldered glass and fabric pendants. She is also
having fun making lots of new pieces for children.

Linda also creates one of-a-kind
mosaics using ceramic tiles and broken china. Stop by to see
her hotplates, mirrors and serving trays. She will be giving
hands-on demonstrations over the course of the weekend.
Custom orders will be taken and ready for the
holidays!

I enjoy being on the tour because it allows me to show my
friends and neighbours in Eastern Ontario what I weave and
just how I do it. I love demonstrating because weaving is both
very simple and very complicated. It’s fun to watch the
growing comprehension on people’s
faces!
I tend to use many
different yarns in
my cloth weaving, the combinations of colours and textures
pleases me. I try to use eco-friendly materials, ethically
produced fibres, locally produced, recycled, etc. I especially
enjoy rag weaving, wherein strips of reused cloth takes the
place of some of the yarn.

Herman and Thecla are excited to be
part of OCG tour for the first time this year and are happy to
show their work.
“We practice the art of recycling, making sculptures
and artwork for both indoors and outdoors.” Thecla creates her
beautiful pieces using a variety of recycled materials, and a
unique fabric hardener, called paverpol. Parverpol is an
environmentally non-toxic, water-based product. When it is
hardened, it is weather-proof and frost-proof. Anyone can
sculpt with paverpol. You too can learn how in our classes.
